5 Things you will need before relocating to an undeveloped area

By Osayanmon Oke-Akins

Moving to an undeveloped area. Either to your own house or a rented apartment has great benefit and one of it is that you will enjoy quietness or peace you have never enjoyed before when you were in the city. Everything that has an advantage has a disadvantage, and one of the disadvantages of undeveloped areas is poor network not able to call out or reach other through mobile phones due to poor network. There are other things that might make your staying in a remote area stressful. If you must live in these sites you must get his five things ready.

1.    Get an automobile bike or a jeep:
If you are thinking of a vehicle to buy a jeep is preferable, if you have one already its cool, but if you don’t have one  and can’t afford it, I suggest you go for a bike. For every new sites there is always tendency that the roads will be bad and very expensive when taking public transport. Especially during the rainy season, the best vehicles
that have successfully managed our Nigerian roads are jeeps and bikes.

2.    Drill a bolehole:
If you are living in your own house make plans to get yourself a borehole before coming in. you might be shock the distance you need to go get water. And even if it’s close, the amount its cost and how long can you afford it? If you can cope and afford it then skip this part.

3.    Get a generator (I better pass my neighbor):
One thing about new site is that most of them are not yet ready for electricity but they are but a few. The more people come in the better the chance for electricity. There is need to charge your phone pump water from your borehole into your tank and watch the TV in your leisure time.

4.    Get enough Foodstuff:
The reason why we work hard on daily basis is to provide food on our table and that of our loved ones. Therefore food is an essential part of our life. Before you finally know your way around you may want to get a lot of food that will last for at least 3months, when relocating to an undeveloped area. Bear in mind that there might be some slight increase in price of some foodstuff due to the long distance and bad roads the traders travels when restocking their goods.

5.    Be prepared to Farm:
All around you are lands filled with bushes, most of them are owned by owners still enjoying their city life, or owners waiting to see more development before building, leaving you to take responsibility of the cutting of the grass which you will do by force for your own security to keep snakes and scorpions away.in other to benefit from this unpaid job and to stop the bushes from growing back, it is advisable for you to farm (animal/plant). Use it to your advantage. Pawpaw, plaintain, cassava are very easy to plant and maintain.

Goodluck.
