If you are an average couple, trying to start a family in Nigeria where there is no form of government support, and you happen to have an interest in farming or you love to get your hands dirty on the farm, then this idea might just be good for you.
To build your family wealth, you have to consider the
right investment, that works for you. If you are not interested in farming,
none of what I am saying here will make sense to you. Also, you won’t have the
zeal to give your farm the attention it needs.
My piece of advice for an average couple coming together
to start a family is:
1. Work
for one or two years and save vigorously like your life depends on it, to raise
funds.
2. Acquire
a minimum of 2-3plots of land in a not-so-developed area where you can afford it.
3. Secure
your plot with a brick fence or an iron fence.
4. Drill a
borehole: our family needs it, the plant needs it, the animals, your neighbors
need it.
5. I
personally will recommend you build a tiny farmhouse for your family, although
enough to accommodate your future family. The goal here is to have enough space
to farm.
Plant things that will be of benefit to your family, your
farm animals, and also what you can sell or process in exchange for money, as
that money can really help to get other foodstuff or household needs.
The Chief of the
Blackfeet said,
"Our land is
more valuable than your money. It will last forever. It will not even perish by
the flames of fire. As long as the sun shines and the waters flow, this land
will be here to give life to men and animals."
One of the things that take away the romance in a marriage
is financial problems. There might be one or two challenges in that area but,
it should not overwhelm you. So you have to plan your finances.
The images shared here are to give you an idea. Make your
own list. Good luck.
Kindly take out time to make a contribution, I would love
to hear from you.
